En hoe kan je dat beter doen dan met een bord vol groenten en fruit <em>\u2018van bij ons\u2019?<\/em> Ik koos voor een gerecht dat helemaal past bij de seizoenskalender: <strong>broccoli, wortel, tomaat, komkommer en appels<\/strong>. Stuk voor stuk toppers die nu op hun best zijn. <strong><em>Lokaal, seizoensgebonden<\/em><\/strong> en verrassend lekker! Dankzij deze salade ontdekte ik dat rauwe broccoli heerlijk is! <strong>Knapperig, fris<\/strong> en bomvol<strong> voedingsstoffen<\/strong>. Jaren geleden liet ze ons voor het eerst haar<em> \u2018American broccoli salad\u2019 <\/em>proeven en die smaakte verbluffend lekker! E\u00e9n hap en mijn man en ik keken elkaar in de ogen en zeiden: <strong><em>\u201cOh my God! This is delicious! Wow!\u201d<\/em><\/strong> De samenstelling van de salade, de hemelse dressing, de zoute spekjes en kaas, maar vooral de crunchy fijne broccoliroosjes maken het geheel af. Ik heb nooit haar recept gezien, maar ik vind deze salade zo lekker en begon ermee te experimenteren. <em>Thanks for the inspiration, Jeanne!<\/em><br>Ik gaf er mijn eigen Belgische twist aan, want ik voegde er v\u00e9\u00e9l meer groentensoorten aan toe, fruit, andere noten en ontwikkelde mijn eigen dressing met goeie Belgische mayo en mosterd! <em>(geen ready-made zakje ranch van USA). <\/em>\ud83d\ude09 Ook geen cheddarkaas, maar wel Vlaamse belegen <strong>Flandrienkaas<\/strong> dat hier in de stad naast ons gemaakt wordt. Je kan er eindeloos mee vari\u00ebren bijvoorbeeld met andere fruitsoorten, andere groenten, andere noten, rozijnen in plaats van veenbessen<em> (mijn man HAAT rozijnen, dus vandaar de gedroogde veenbesjes) <\/em>en uiteraard kan je ook naar hartenlust verse kruiden toevoegen zoals peterselie, munt, basilicum, bieslook,\u2026 De afwerking bepaal je helemaal zelf, maar voor deze salade is het toch belangrijk om twee dingen zeker te behouden: de<strong> RAUWE<\/strong> <strong>BROCCOLI<\/strong> en de <strong>DRESSING.<\/strong><br>Lust je geen rauwe broccoli? Dan kan je de roosjes ook besprenkelen met wat olijfolie en een kwartiertje roosteren in een voorverwarmde oven van 180\u00b0C. Maar ik raad je toch aan om de salade eerst eens te proeven met de rauwe broccoliroosjes, want die zorgen net voor het karakter van de salade en zorgen voor extra crunch! <em>Give it a try,
