Aan een bord dat ruikt naar vakantie, muziek en lange avonden met goed gezelschap. En precies daarom neem ik je vandaag mee op een kleine culinaire trip richting West-Afrika, met een traditioneel gerecht uit Senegal en Gambia. Ik ken enkel de Senegalese versie van de Kip Yassa<em> (ook wel yassa poulet genoemd)<\/em> malse kip in een frisse citroen-mosterdmarinade, met zacht gestoofde en licht gekarameliseerde uien die uitmonden in een heerlijk hartige saus. Fris, vol en comfortfood tegelijk<\/strong>. <strong>En er hangt voor mij n\u00f3g een laagje nostalgie aan vast. Van mijn 15e tot 21ste speelde ik djembe en volgde ik Afrikaanse danslessen bij artiesten uit Senegal. Jarenlang zat ik in Senegalese sferen met muzikale momenten, Afrikaanse muntthee en natuurlijk\u2026 yassa kip. Mijn vriendin Liesbet maakt hem nog altijd het allerbeste, maar ik kon het niet laten om dit gerecht zelf opnieuw te maken. Met een vleugje nostalgie, de nodige heimwee en vooral veel liefde voor de vriendschappen die daar zijn ontstaan<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:52px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Wat Kip Yassa zo onweerstaanbaar maakt, is die perfecte balans: het zurige van citroen, het pittige van mosterd en het zoete van uien die langzaam hun magie doen. In Senegal en Gambia wordt dit vaak in een grote schaal op tafel gezet: een grote schaal witte rijst, daarbovenop de kip en de uiensaus, afgewerkt met schijfjes citroen. Lepels errond en gezellig samen eten. Een echte<em> sharing dish<\/em> die meteen sfeer brengt. De <strong>Tilda\u2019s voorgestoomde rijst<\/strong> is opnieuw mijn geheime wapen, want in slechts <strong>2 minuten<\/strong> warm in de microgolf en klaar voor gebruik. Geen gedoe, geen stress, gewoon pure kwaliteit en gemak! Love it! <br>Voor deze versie serveer ik het met <strong>Tilda Pure Basmati Rice<\/strong> <em>(voorgestoomd)<\/em>. Deze rijst past perfect bij deze Kip Yassa: de luchtige, losse korrel neemt de frisse citroen-mosterdsaus en de gekarameliseerde uien heerlijk op, zonder papperig te worden. Bovendien is de voorgestoomde rijst in 2 minuten klaar, ideaal om snel te genieten van deze West-Afrikaanse comfortfood.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:52px\" aria-hidden=\"true\"
